Last Friday, the district hosted leaders from all of the communities that we serve at our annual Community Leaders Breakfast. Dr. Tingley gave a state of the district presentation while attendees enjoyed their breakfast. Thank you to all of our community partners that attended!

Mrs. Megan Wells has received the first ever LW Special Services Educator of the Year Award! Her dedication, passion, and commitment for teaching does not go unnoticed! Join us in congratulating her on this well-deserved recognition.

The LWE Argonne Exemplary Student Research Program (ESRP) team presented their project to faculty, family and friends last week. The presentation was practice for when they participate in the Argonne poster session in a couple of weeks. The project this year is a metagenomic DNA analysis of the complete microbiome of soil. This project was based on a Department of Defense funded study to allow international investigators to conclude what activities are or were occurring inside a structure by analyzing the soil microorganisms outside of a structure. Good luck to the Argonne ESRP team!

Students across the district spent time over the last two days in review sessions and practice exams for their upcoming AP tests! We are proud of their dedication and wish them all luck as they tackle their AP tests in a few weeks.

This Friday (April 12) Mr. Pearson, LWW personal finance teacher, will be a guest on The Ramsey Show between 2-2:30pm. He will be talking about some of the things our Warrior students are doing to better their financial futures! Tune in wherever you listen to podcasts.

Last week, Warrior Way hosted a Life After Lincoln-Way guest speaker panel and breakfast to honor retiring classroom teachers. Thank you to Ms. Lehnert, Ms. Plesek, Mrs. Scheer, and Dr. Stasi for sharing their advice for future success with our soon-to-be graduating seniors.

Registration for the 2024-2025 school year is now open! Please be sure to complete the registration process at your earliest convenience. Registration fees before June 15th will be $315, and fees will be $325 after that date. Once logged into Skyward, you will be able to complete registration by clicking on the 2024-2025 Online Registration link on the left side of the screen. During the registration process, please be sure to add a cell phone number for your student in the student information section. This will be used to provide transportation changes and other timely updates directly to students during the school year. *Failure to complete online registration on Skyward may delay the release of your child's schedule for the new school year in August.

Ire Adelakun, a senior at Lincoln-Way East High School, is committed to being a voice for students when it comes to mental health. His involvement in the Bring Change 2 Mind club at East has opened doors for him to make an impact on an even larger scale. He joined the BC2M National Teen Advisory Board, where he provides support for launching the club at other schools across the country, and he was recently selected as one of six students nationally to speak at a mental health conference in Iceland this June. Students from LWW & LWC's Environmental Action Club engaged in hands-on learning at Four Rivers Environmental Education Center, testing and exploring the health of nearby waterways - a practical approach to understanding environmental science.

Mr. Huizinga’s Biology students at West created DNA origami as they learned about the basic structure of a DNA molecule.
