On Saturday, February 24th, the Lincoln Way West Mathletes team won their Regional automatically qualifying the whole team for state. The Algebra 1, Geometry, and Freshman/Sophomore group came in second place. Alex Roedl took home the gold in the Geometry for individuals. Mikey Nebel took home the silver for individuals in Algebra 1. Ray Egner and Dillon Lenihan came in 3rd for the 2 person competition. Our calculator team came in first place which consisted of Kenny Cunz, Alex Roedl, Ethan Fitterer, Nick Dul, Carter Stiglic, Emily Tigchelaar, Xinyu Wang, and Elise Drake. Ray Egner and Everardo Garcia took home the silver medal in the presentation contest.
The Mathletes next competition is the state finals which are held at Illinois State University on April 6th. Congratulations to this hardworking group of students, and good luck at state!
